We are searching for a Camera Prep Assistant to join our Operations team in Cape Town.
This is a frontline role focused on job fulfilment, equipment readiness, and providing exceptional service to camera crews and production clients. We are looking for a highly organized individual who takes pride in the precision and presentation of world-class cinema equipment.
The Camera Prep Assistant is responsible for the entire job cycle, from testing and preparing gear to final delivery and restocking. You will act as a key point of contact for crews on the camera floor, ensuring that every kit is complete, functional, and fit for purpose.

The Camera Prep Assistant is responsible for the entire job cycle, from testing and preparing gear to final delivery and restocking. You will act as a key point of contact for crews on the camera floor, ensuring that every kit is complete, functional, and fit for purpose.
What you’ll do:
- Execute the full preparation cycle, including testing, gear checks, packing, and dispatching equipment accurately and on time.
- Support camera crews during prep, managing gear requests and escalating technical or inventory conflicts to the Rentals and Technical teams.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, complete, and functioning to specification; identify and report any malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain a meticulously organized camera floor and ensure all stock is safely stored and accounted for.
- Assist with the return and restocking of gear and perform local deliveries using company vehicles when required.
- Methodical approach to following procedures and handling high-value, delicate equipment.
- Basic understanding of camera systems and a desire to maintain industry-leading gear to the highest standards.
- Ability to handle significant manual labour, remain on your feet for long periods, and navigate large commercial spaces.
- A polite, helpful demeanour with the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime or remain on-call during peak production seasons to meet client deadlines.
- A valid South African driver's license (Code B).
